Modern Disposal Services Awarded Solid Waste and Recycling Contract
The Village Board of Trustees awarded the bid for solid waste, garbage, and recycling collection, hauling, and processing to Modern Disposal Services. The contract is for a six-year term. While Modern Disposal Services did not have the lowest bid price, their proposal was selected based on other factors within the contract specifications that made them the top choice. The village prioritized maintaining the same service level and collection schedules for residents as previously established, which was a key component of the bid specifications. Modern Disposal Services will begin service on the upcoming Monday and aims for a seamless transition for residents.
Administrator Authorized for Year-End Budget Adjustments
The Village Board of Trustees authorized the administrator to adjust the 2025-2026 budget for year-end purposes. This action was approved through a roll call vote, indicating unanimous support from the board members present.
Agreement with Feedmore Approved for Meals on Wheels Distribution
The Village Board of Trustees authorized Mayor Kevin Peterson to sign an agreement with Fedmore (likely Feedmore) to use space in the Dew Ice Rink vestibule as a distribution center for the Meals on Wheels program. Volunteer Fire Department Training and Events Approved

Additionally, permission was granted for the Southside Fire Station to be used by Hook and Ladder Company number one for their annual chicken barbecue on June 20th, 2026. These activities aim to enhance firefighter skills and support community events.
Seasonal Laborers Appointed to DPW
The Village Board of Trustees appointed four individuals as part-time seasonal laborers for the Department of Public Works (DPW). The appointments are Carson Albertie, Aiden Mandel, Aiden Mecca, and Carcel Kadus. This appointment is made pursuant to section 4-400 of village law. A roll call vote was conducted for the appointments.
