Carville High School Teacher Named District Teacher of the Year

Teacher Carville, a teacher at Carville High School, has been named the District Teacher of the Year. Initially surprised and somewhat embarrassed by the announcement, she expressed excitement and humility. She has always aspired to be an elementary school teacher, driven by a love for helping people. Her teaching style is described as 'silly' to create a comfortable atmosphere, but she maintains very high expectations for her students, actively helping them achieve these goals. She sees her role as crucial in training the next generation of citizens, emphasizing the importance of civic knowledge and virtues for the republic's survival and thriving. Carville High School Aviation Program Achieves National Distinction

The Carville High School aviation program, established three years ago, has earned a national distinction and is flourishing. The program allows students to begin with an intro to aerospace in their freshman year, progress to aviation one and two in their sophomore year (focusing on flight simulators and FAA test preparation), and fly in their junior and senior years. Graduates will possess a private pilot license, opening doors to university or flight school. The program now boasts 14 flight simulators, an expanded aviation wing, and has produced approximately 45 pilots since its inception, with another 28 expected to graduate this May and around 40 the following year. Many graduates pursue careers in aviation. An instructor pilot with extensive experience from the Marine Corps teaches in the program and also at a regular flight school, finding great enjoyment in students earning their licenses and succeeding in their careers.
