Bemidji Sustainability Commission Supports EVs; HRDC Report Highlights Community Development

CGMC Provides Legislative Update: Bonding Bill Passes, Lead Line Funding Falls Short
Elizabeth from the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities (CGMC) provided an update on the past legislative session and upcoming priorities. Key issues discussed included the importance of protecting local government aid (LGA), the passing of a $1.24 billion bonding bill with funding for water projects and some local infrastructure, and the ongoing challenges with lead service line replacement funding, which received only $15 million despite an estimated $1.5 billion cost. The upcoming legislative session will focus on elections and preparing for a new governor and legislature.

Bemidji City Council Discusses and Refers Heritage Preservation Ordinance for Further Review
