Recreation Department Updates on Programs, Events, and Summer Activities
Updates were provided on various recreation department activities. This includes senior transportation for medical appointments, exercise programs (yoga, walking club), arts and crafts, trips, and monthly birthday events. Upcoming events in June and July include first aid/safety talks by the EMS group, entertainment, and a talk on the New York medical aid and dying act. The Monday night band series is set to begin, sponsored by Meridian, with hopes of securing other business sponsors. Summer sports clinics and a new sewing camp are available for registration. Men's softball leagues have started, and pickleball and ladies' tennis lessons are offered. Two highlights included a mentor meeting for summer interns and a mental health awareness event.
May Financial Report Presented Amidst System Overhaul
A financial report for May was presented, including statements of revenues and expenditures, and the general ledger. The council is working on a more flexible system for holistic cohort management. The current system is noted as inflexible. The financial data allows for review against cloud budgets.
