Auburn School Committee Approves Updated Teacher Stipend Schedule
The School Committee discussed and approved an updated stipen schedule agreement between the Auburn School Committee and the Auburn Education Association. The stipen committee, comprised of administration, association representatives, coaches, and the athletic director, reviewed and compared Auburn's stipen structure with neighboring districts. They found many amounts outdated and adopted a percentage of base salary approach, increasing athletic stipends by approximately X% and co-curricular stipends by approximately 400% (amount omitted for athletic). These costs were anticipated in the FY25 budget and will not have an additional impact. The updates aim to align Auburn's stipends with surrounding districts, recognize staff commitment, and aid in attracting and retaining qualified personnel.
