The Pleasant Grove seniors celebrated their graduation on May 19th, with 94 seniors receiving over $26 million in scholarships. The city also participated in the Jefferson County Mayor's Association meeting where the superintendent highlighted that Jefferson County schools received over $720 million in scholarships, with a goal of $1 billion.
City Partners with Automation for Summer Youth Program, Adjusts Service Agreement
The city is partnering with Automation for a summer youth program, which will employ recent high school graduates. The service agreement with Automation was amended due to a lack of participation and job competitiveness, increasing the hourly pay for applicants from $10 to $15 and the service agreement cost from $13,000 to $18,000. Funds are available due to a budgeted city vacancy.
