City Council Amends 2026 Appropriations for Various Expenses, Including New Laptops for City Garage
Ordinance 2026-59, an amendment to the 2026 annual appropriations, was presented. City Council Approves Lease Agreement with My Simple Cleaning LLC
Ordinance 2026-58 was introduced to authorize the mayor to enter into a lease agreement with My Simple Cleaning LLC for 500 square feet of commercial space at 7059 Avon Beldon Road. Council moved to dispense with the second and third readings and add the emergency clause to expedite the process, citing the need to secure the tenant and avoid losing potential revenue. The lease is for three years at $600 per month.
City Council Approves Rezoning of City-Owned Parcel to Light Industrial
Ordinance 2026-45 was presented for third reading, which amends the zoning map to rezone a 12.5-acre portion of a city-owned parcel from R1 (Residential District) to I2 (Light Industrial District). The rezoned area is more fully described in Exhibit A and depicted in Exhibit B.
City Council Advances State Route 83 and Chestnut Ridge Roundabout Project
Ordinance 2026-56, concerning the State Route 83 and Chestnut Ridge roundabout, was discussed. ODOT is contributing approximately $1.1 million towards construction, based on 80% of the original estimate. The current construction cost is over $2 million, with the city funding $500,000 for water main replacement. ODOT is also providing $110,000 for inspection services. The project aims to improve traffic safety and health by replacing an intersection with a roundabout and upgrading the waterline. Council moved to dispense with the third reading and add an emergency clause for safety, health, and welfare.
