He detailed the consulate's role in covering Ventura, Santa Barbara, and San Luis Obispo counties, serving a large Mexican community of approximately 600,000 people. Services include legal assistance, documentation (passports, consular ID, voting registration, dual citizenship), and community services to strengthen ties and promote inclusion. The consulate also provides legal and immigration services, assists with locating relatives in Mexico, offers legal orientations, supports prisoners, and conducts interviews with detained Mexican nationals. He stressed the importance of knowing about these services and warned against 'chompiras' (notaries) who charge excessive fees for legal services, urging people to consult the consulate or recommended legal firms instead.
